The flag salute was led by Mayor Pro- Tem Roman

CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Pro- Tem Roman called the meeting of Dec. 12, 2017 to order at 7:00 p.m.

PUBIC MEETING
Mayor Pro-Tem Roman open the public meeting to discuss the proposed increase of the 2018 irrigation assessment. Mayor Roman explained that the meeting held this evening was to give the citizens of Granger an opportunity to ask questions, or to provide comments for or against the increase.  It was said that the Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District, which the City purchases it’s irrigation water from had increased the amount they charge the City.  In turn the City passed on the increase to the consumer.  She informed everyone that the irrigation assessment will increase from $120.00 per year to $126.00 for the 2018 irrigation season.  Mayor Pro-Tem Roman asked if anyone in the audience had any questions, she then asked Council if they had any questions, hearing none she then closed the public meeting at 7:03 p.m.

It was moved by Councilwoman Sharp to accept the minutes as presented. Motion seconded by Councilwoman Gonzalez.
MOTION CARRIED: 4-0

 NEW BUSINESS

Ordinance 1297
It was moved by Councilwoman Gonzalez to adopt Ordinance 1292, amending the rate for the irrigation water distribution to $126.00. Motion was seconded by Councilwoman Sharp
MOTION CARRIED: 4-0

 Expenditure request – Court Training
It was moved by Councilwoman Sharp to approve the expenditure of $1,661.37 for Judge Northcott to attend the State Judicial College in Vancouver and authorize the City Clerk to write a treasurers check in the amount of $555.00 for the registration fee Motion was seconded by Councilwoman Gonzalez.
MOTION CARRIED: 4-0

COG Membership Reps
It was moved by Councilwoman Sharp to appoint Councilwoman Gonzalez as the voting representative to the Yakima Valley Conference of Governments Membership and Councilwoman Villarreal as the alternate. Motion was seconded by Councilman Isiordia.
MOTION CARRIED: 4-0

BILLS
It was moved by Councilwoman Gonzalez to pay the bills of Dec. 12, 2017 in the amount of $40,362.48. Motion was seconded by Councilwoman Sharp.
