CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Trevino called the meeting of January 12, 2021 to order at 7:05 p.m.

Utility Adjustment

It was moved by Councilwoman Sharp to allow the adjustment of $492.38 on the utility bill for 611 LaPierre Road.  Motion was seconded by Councilwoman Villarreal.

Task Order 2021-01 – HLA

It was moved by Councilwoman Guzman to enter into the General Agreement, Task Order 2021-01 with HLA Engineering and Land Surveying, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $235,000.00.  Motion was seconded by Councilman Isiordia

Year end report for PD

Chief Araguz presented his year end report to the City Council with the Law Incident Comparison from 2019 compared to 2020, indicating where there was a high volume of calls and letting them know that the PD had received 51 more call than in 2019.  He also spoke about Sector, which provides information as to have many and what type of traffic stops were made and the number of citations that were issued.  He also gave a brief report on the Code Enforcement/Animal Control as to what and where emphases were placed, such as cleaning up many properties in Granger. Also letting Council know the number of dogs impounded (46) during the year and that many of the pets were claimed by their owners with appropriate fees being paid.  Chief also explained the Reserve Officers program and the benefit the provide the Department as well as the Community.  He explained that collectively the Reserve Officers volunteered 590 hours in 2020.  He informed them of a new Reserve the Dept. will be sending to the reserve academy.  He commended Officer Salinas for the work he has done with the Reserve Officers as he is their lead. 

Nomination for Mayor Pro-Tem  

It was moved by Councilwoman Villarreal to nominate Councilwoman Guzman as the Mayor Pro-Tem for the 2021 year.   Motion was seconded by Councilman Isiordia.
